Overview
Hextech Gunblade is a level created by GW Mundo in update 1.5. It is an obscure extreme demon featuring tight straight-fly sections and impossible timings. The level may have drawn inspiration from Ice Carbon Zust.
Due to the unplaytested gameplay, a fixed version that preserves the original path was uploaded to the account "059", and subsequently beaten by IceMush on June 18, 2023.
Versions
Original Version
Following the level's release on March 17, 2014, the first version was uploaded, featuring a secret way at the beginning and precise timings throughout. This version was not fully documented, so it is unclear whether there were any differences in decoration.
Nerfed Version
The level was updated on March 18, 2014, with an announcement stating that most of the content before 62% was nerfed, possibly done in an attempt to avoid suspicion and get the level rated. This is the current version of the level.
Trivia
- The name Hextech Gunblade is based on the now-removed League of Legends item also called "Hextech Gunblade."
- The name GW Mundo may also be a reference to "Dr. Mundo" from League of Legends.
- The level was initially designed to be GW Mundo's best creation, prioritizing quality over sheer difficulty. It even received tips from Zariku and permission from M2Col to use Demon Park designs and assets. Unfortunately, GW Mundo ultimately decided to scrap that idea and opted to increase difficulty and rush the level.
